Working with the Touch Pro

Well the SPL unlocker finally got released for the Touch Pro. Last night I loaded four different ROM's til I got one I liked. Scrosler's ROM is getting my TP to be quicker especially with TF3D loaded. I tell ya what though, I miss the optical mouse on the Saga, but at least I don't have the urge to throw this TP against a wall or sell it on ebay. Soon I am sure they will have GPS unlocked.

My treo 650 finally died today as the battery contacts (whole plastic assembly) came out... no more power...

So, now i need to upgrade - in the mean time my company is migrating to Winmo 6.0 and i will be on verizon - i have 3 choices, Saga, Omnia, or HTC Touch Pro... in order to run company's proprietary programs...

I was falling in love with the Touch Pro reading teh reviews that i found - mostly from the UK - but then got a sour taste when the lady over at CNET said she couldn't recommend it cuz Verizon reduced the memory and it ran slow... made her frustrated... you'd think cuz it's the most expensive it would have to be the best...

I have looked at Sage and Omnia - and it seems to boil down to keyboard or not to keyboard... now i am just frustrated....

Has hacking the rom for the Touch be able to overcome the slowness of less mem & slower navigation?

I am a biz user... i am not much of an internet phone person... however, it would be very helpful to use googlemaps - can this be used on all three phones?

I want to do the standard stuff but i really don't care to read email - i'll do it when i get home...

i use it for client stuff, calculating financial stuff, probably good to use windows programs that i never really went out of my way for on my Treo - which i was running out of memory and it ran slow!

I'm rambling, but hoping someone will step up and convince me that Touch is not really that bad on Verizon or there is a way to speed it up...

Please Advise...

Cheers, jake
